The brief
Furnish a lounge, bar and dining room that all residents or guests share, with seating that holds up to daily commercial use and still feels residential.
What we built
A coordinated set: wood-frame lounge chairs for the seating groups, upholstered café chairs around round tables, dining armchairs with patterned outside backs, and built-in banquettes along the dining room walls.
Details
Mixing two fabrics on one chair (a solid inside, a pattern outside) ties the dining chairs to the banquettes and keeps cleaning simple where hands and backs touch most.
